Wedding Reception Catering

Choosing a caterer for your wedding can be one of the most important decisions that you make regarding your big day. It's true that in some cases, the Detroit wedding venue that you have chosen will already have a caterer that they prefer to work with, or perhaps they have a full service banquet facility. We think that's great because it simplifies the process for you, but if that's not the case, you'll need to choose one on your own.

  • Do they specialize in weddings, or are receptions more of a rare event for them?

  • Do they have liability insurance, and are they licensed to serve alcoholic beverages?

  • What are the cake-cutting, bartending, and cleanup fees?

  • What is the cancellation policy?

  • How many servers will there be, and how much gratuity do they require?

EVENTS OF EXCELLENCE CATERING is the exclusive caterer of Events of Excellence at the Marina, which is a gorgeous banquet center with a river view that sounds like an excellent place to hold your wedding reception. (We didn't include that one on the wedding reception venues page simply because we have not attended it ourselves yet.) CONTINENTAL SERVICES is based in Sterling Heights, and we really love their approach to catering weddings and parties of all types. They can accommodate any number of guests, and their foods represent such a wide array of ethnicities. They've got Middle Eastern, Asian, American, Eastern European, Latin American, Fusion, Kosher... you name it, they offer it. You can choose the perfect blend of tastes to really set off your night just perfectly. We were really blown away by the first class service that they offer. VASSELS MAIN STREET CATERING is based in nearby Canton, and they are truly one of the best choices when it comes to catering for your once in a lifetime wedding reception. They offer a wide array of foods including Mediterranean fare, French favorites, Italian dishes, and of course all our American classics. We love the affordable prices here, and the fact that they never skimp on service. Their longstanding reputation for high quality is well deserved, and well known. We can't tell you how many weddings we have attended that have been catered by Vassels Main Street Catering.
